Atletico Madrid issue Arsenal complaint to UEFA ahead of Champions League clash

Atletico Madrid have lodged an official complaint to UEFA ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Arsenal, after being left without hot water at the Emirates Stadium following their training session today.

Marca reports that the LaLiga side trained in London on a rainy day, but they were unable to shower before leaving the stadium.

Diego Simeone’s men had reported the issue to Arsenal’s staff shortly after Atletico arrived around 5:30pm, but it was not resolved before the end of training.

The Spanish side were shocked that a modern stadium such as the Emirates could experience such a basic facilities issue, especially during a major UEFA competition.

Players and staff had to return to their hotel to shower and prepare for the match.

Atletico have since filed a formal protest to UEFA, calling the situation unacceptable for a stadium of Arsenal’s stature.
