Actor Kiefer Sutherland arrested for allegedly ass@ulting ride share driver

British-Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland has been arrested after allegedly ass@ulting a ride-share driver in Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said Sutherland entered a ride-share vehicle, physically assaulted the driver (the victim), and made criminal threats in the early hours of Monday morning (January 12). The statement added that the victim was not injured following the incident. BBC News has reported that the 24 star was released after paying a bond of $50,000 (37,000), and is due to appear in court on February 2. Kiefer Sutherland was previously arrested in September 2007 on drunk driving charges, following a failed field sobriety test. He pleaded no contest to a DUI charge and was sentenced to 48 days in jail. The actor spoke about the incident in an interview with NME in 2022. This isnt like prison, this is kind of a warehouse, he said at the time. In a way, prison is a refined experience compared to county jail. After breaking through as a film actor in movies such as The Lost Boys, Young Guns, and Flatliners, Sutherland found renewed fame on television in the early 00s in the action series 24, winning an Emmy and Golden Globe for his portrayal of Jack Bauer in the hit show. The series would last from 2001-10, as well as being revived in 2014. He also starred in the political thriller Designated Survivor, which ran from 2016-19. He is the son of award-winning actor Donald Sutherland, who passed away in 2024 aged 88. The post Actor Kiefer Sutherland arrested for allegedly ass@ulting ride share driver appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
