Georgia man arrested after yelling racial slurs at security guard in viral video

A man in Georgia, U.S.A, has been arrested after a racist tirade against a security guard in an Atlanta suburb went viral online. Robert John Burke was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with the incident outside the Social Security Administration office in Gwinnett County on Wednesday, January 14. His mug shot released by authorities showed him glaring at the camera.In the video, Burke can be seen shouting racial slurs at a security guard, repeatedly calling him the n-word and appearing to square up as if preparing to throw a punch. He eventually walked away while continuing to hurl slurs over his shoulder. The confrontation reportedly occurred outside the Social Security Administration office in Norcross.Police said Burke was no longer at the scene when officers arrived, prompting an arrest warrant. On Thursday, he allegedly caused another disturbance at a Courtyard Marriott hotel where he was staying. Hotel staff called police, reporting that Burke was being hostile and asking that he be removed and criminally trespassed.According to the police report, Burke was aggressive, yelling at the employees, and he was also talking to himself. Officers said he initially refused to leave his room but eventually complied. Burke told officers he suffers from schizophrenia, paranoia, and mental health disabilities.
