Police arrest five members of notorious armed robbery gang over alleged attack on forest security guards and residents in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five suspected armed robbers in connection with attacks on members of Nigerian Forestry and Security Services in Giade Local Government Area of the state.  The spokesperson of the command, SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, January 19, 2026 said preliminary investigations revealed that the gang had been terrorising the town, breaking into homes and stealing valuables  According to the PPRO, two red Boxer motorcycles, sharp knives, a saw, four ATM cards, five motorcycle ignition switch with keys, and three capacitors, were recovered from the suspects. On 9/01/2026 at about 0300hrs, information receipt from a good Samaritan disclosed that on the same date at about 0230hrs, a gang of thieves armed with cutlasses, knives, sticks and a dane gun, numbering about seven (7) criminally conspired and attacked one Mohammed Musa AKA Baushe, aged 40yrs and one Auwal Maidawa all of Giade LGA, Bauchi (members of Nigerian Forestry and Security Services) attached to Giade Emirate Council, the statement read. “The duo sustained injuries and were robbed of their valuables, which includes one dane gun, one torchlight and one handset. Upon receipt of the information, a team of detectives led by DPO Giade, CSP Bello Yusuf Kumo moved into action, hunted the perpetrators and successfully apprehended one Aminu Abdulkadir aged 22yrs of Ung. Guru.  During interrogation, the suspect indicted the following individuals (all arrested) for the attack at the Emir’s palace: 1. Habu Musa alias Habule aged 24yrs 2. Adamu Samaila alias Aliyos aged 24yrs 3. Yusuf Sabo alias Isibu Dan tsure aged 24yrs 4. Abdullahi Garba alias Audu guntu aged 25yrs 5. Dan Azare all of Giade town. A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for terrorising Giade town.  They serially criminally conspired and trespassed into various houses and robbed innocent occupants of their valuables such as; thirteen (13) handset, two (2) wrappers, one (2) lace, one (1) MP3, one (1) bluetooth.
