Victor Osimhen is the second biggest brand in Nigeria after the Super Eagles – NSC disagrees with Sunday Oliseh over comments on Osimhen and Super Eagles

The Director General of Nigerias National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, has said he disagrees with comments made by former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, regarding Victor Osimhen and other members of the national team. Oliseh recently criticised Osimhens conduct during Nigerias AFCON semi-final defeat to Morocco. He also faulted the Super Eagles players for celebrating their third-place finish, describing the act as a sign of mediocrity. Reacting to the remarks, Olopade said he strongly disagrees with Olisehs position, stressing that the current crop of players deserves support rather than public criticism. I disagree with Oliseh on many of his comments, including his indictment of Osimhen and others, Olopade told Footy-Africa. Our superstars of yesterday deserve respect, but they must also take their place as mentors to the younger generation, not denigrate them, he added.Defending Nigerias star striker, Olopade emphasised Osimhens importance both on and off the pitch. He continued, Osimhen is the second biggest brand in Nigeria after the Super Eagles. If we are branding Nigeria: Super Eagles are number one, Osimhen is number two, and the Super Falcons are number three. Oliseh is a hero, his legacy is secure. But he must allow these youngsters to make mistakes and learn, just as he did, he added. The post Victor Osimhen is the second biggest brand in Nigeria after the Super Eagles NSC disagrees with Sunday Oliseh over comments on Osimhen and Super Eagles appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
