APGA Fixes Form Fees, Announces Schedule for 2026 Anambra LG Elections
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled its provisional timetable for the 2026 Anambra State Local Government primary elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Awka by its National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the party said the schedule was approved in accordance with APGA’s constitution and the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) calendar.
According to the timetable, the sale and return of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will take place at APGA’s Awka Regional Secretariat from January 27 to February 6.
Screening of chairmanship and councillorship aspirants will follow from February 7 to 11 across the state’s 21 local government areas and 326 wards. Appeals arising from the screening exercise are scheduled for February 13. Ward congresses to elect councillorship candidates and ad-hoc delegates will hold on February 14.
The chairmanship primary election is set for February 15 in Awka, with any appeals arising from the primaries to be resolved the following day, February 16.
APGA fixed the cost of forms at N6 million for chairmanship aspirants and N600,000 for councillorship aspirants. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will pay half of these fees.
The party noted that all payments are non-refundable and that the dates remain subject to change.
The party urged all intending aspirants to strictly comply with the stipulated guidelines and electoral regulations.
