2027: Tinubu Declares Governors as APC Leaders in Their States
President Bola Tinubu has identified state governors as the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in their respective states across the federation.
Speaking at the official reception of Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, in Jalingo, the president said the APC is led at the state level by sitting governors.
Tinubu, who was represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima, stated that Governor Kefas had become the APC leader in Taraba State following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party.
The president reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the governor and his cabinet in delivering development to Taraba State, noting that Kefas has been working to foster unity and harmonise the state’s diversity.
“I urge everyone in Taraba State to rally behind the governor and support him to succeed,” Tinubu said.
Expressing satisfaction over the defection of a governor from the North-East geopolitical zone, the president added that he hoped Adamawa and Bauchi states would also join the APC-led federal government.
