The Senate has commenced an emergency plenary session on the contentious amendments to the Electoral Act.  The emergency plenary session was called for following mounting protest by some Nigerians and civil societies for the inclusion of mandatory real-time electronic transmission of election results. The sitting comes less than a week after the passage of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, 2026. President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is presiding over the session, which is being attended by the remaining senators.     View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial) The post Senate commences emergency plenary on Electoral Act amendments amidst protest appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
