JUST IN: Turaki, PDP NWC Storm Court of Appeal Over Leadership Crises

Senior figures of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday moved to the Court of Appeal in Abuja to pursue legal action over the party’s leadership crisis.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, led members of the National Working Committee to the court for a crucial hearing on disputes surrounding the control and structure of the party.

The visit followed the listing of several appeals linked to internal disagreements over the PDP’s leadership arrangement. Party officials confirmed that the matter is now before a three-member panel of the Court of Appeal.

Turaki arrived with prominent stakeholders from different arms of the party. Among them were Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, members of the Board of Trustees, and Edo State PDP Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, who also heads the PDP State Chairmen Forum.

Several former members of the National Working Committee were also present at the court premises, showing the weight the party is placing on the outcome of the case.

The leadership tussle has continued to raise concerns within the party, as factions seek judicial clarity on decisions taken at recent meetings and conventions.

Party sources said the appeal is aimed at resolving conflicting court rulings and restoring unity ahead of future political activities.

Security was tightened around the Court of Appeal complex as party leaders and supporters gathered for the proceedings.
