Katsina Hisbah arrests three over alleged witchcraft
The Katsina Hisbah Board has arrested three men in Dandume Local Government Area of the state over allegations of practicing witchcraft. The suspects were arrested at Dandume market on February 8, 2026. A statement issued by spokesperson of the board in Dandume, Abdul Baki Mustapha Dandume, said the suspects were arrested following complaints from residents, who alleged that the individuals used witchcraft-related tricks to deceive people and collect money from them. The board said investigations are ongoing to ascertain the facts of the case and to take appropriate legal action. It also warned members of the public to desist from engaging in witchcraft and fraudulent activities, urging residents to report any suspicious acts to relevant authorities.
