Man suspected of facilitating sale of wife’s s3xual services to over 100 men

A man in northern Sweden is under investigation for allegedly helping more than 100 men purchase s3xual services from his wife, according to a prosecutor. Under Swedish law, buying s3x is illegal, while selling sexual services is not criminalized. The suspect, a man in his 60s, was arrested in late October after his wife reported him to the police. He has remained in custody since his arrest. Prosecutor Ida Annerstedt said he is suspected of facilitating or financially benefiting from the sale of the womans sexual services. He has been remanded on suspicion of procuring, an offence that involves promoting or profiting from another persons prostitution. Authorities believe the alleged activities occurred between January 2022 and his arrest last year.Annerstedt noted that investigators are also examining other possible offences but declined to provide further details due to the ongoing investigation. She also did not disclose whether the woman, who is in her 50s, was coerced. According to the prosecutor, about 120 individuals suspected of purchasing sexual services have been identified. However, it is unlikely that all will be investigated as part of the primary case. Separate inquiries into the alleged buyers may follow once the main proceedings conclude. The suspect has denied the allegations.
