
A father has reportedly fought off a man who attempted to kidnap his child at a Walmart in Cornelius, Oregon, USA, narrowly avoiding being stabbed during the confrontation. Police said officers were called to the Walmart located at 220 North Adair Street at about 7:48 p.m. on December 21 after the father dialled 911 to report that a stranger had tried to take his child from a stroller while armed with a knife. According to the Cornelius Police Department, the father intervened immediately and prevented the suspect from grabbing the child. During the struggle, the attacker allegedly pulled out a knife from his pocket but dropped it in the process. The father sustained injuries during the confrontation. Investigators identified the suspect as 37-year-old Denis Villalobos, who fled the scene in a white Jeep. He was later located a short distance from the Walmart and taken into custody. Villalobos has been charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping, second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and menacing.
