Family feud at wedding leaves one d3ad, others injured in Yobe state

A family dispute during a wedding ceremony in Kayari village, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State, left one person d3ad and others injured, police confirmed.  The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026 at the residence of Wakili Sumaye, when a fight broke out between members of the Manu and Ibrahim families.  During the altercation, several individuals inflicted serious cutlass injuries on each other.  Four persons Abdullahi Manu, 30; Adamu Manu, 27; Ilyasu Manu, 30; and Mohammadu Ibrahim, 20, all males from the same address were brought to the Damagum Divisional Police Headquarters and subsequently rushed to General Hospital Damagum.  On arrival at the hospital, Abdullahi Manu was confirmed d3ad by the attending medical doctor, while others received treatment for their injuries.  The Yobe State Police Command said investigation into the incident had commenced in earnest, and efforts were ongoing to arrest fleeing suspects.  Authorities urged residents to resolve disputes amicably and avoid the use of weapons to prevent loss of lives. The post Family feud at wedding leaves one d3ad, others injured in Yobe state appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
