
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) alongside officers of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday, January 19, evacuated two vehicles involved in a collision on the Third Mainland Bridge at the Adeniji Intersection. It was gathered that the incident occurred after the driver of a Lexus jeep reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, lost control and collided with another vehicle in the early hours of January 19. The Lexus jeep, bearing number plate RBC-516EA, collided with another vehicle with number plate LND-327EH, as well as a Toyota RAV4 with registration BDG400FA. A video of the aftermath showed emergency responders managing traffic and clearing the vehicles from the scene to prevent further congestion. LASTMA, posting on its verified X account, stated: A driver of a Lexus jeep was fast asleep while driving and ran into another vehicle on the Third mainland bridge at Adeniji Intersection. Cones have been well placed behind for security measures, with ongoing efforts to evacuate both vehicles from the location.
