
Super Eagles stars, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Calvin Bassey have been named in the team of the tournament for the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The CAF Technical Study Group (TSG) announced the Team of the Tournament for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 on Wednesday, highlighting players who delivered exceptional performances in their respective positions. Osimhen scored four goals and made two assists for the Super Eagles as Nigeria won AFCON bronze for the ninth time. Lookman had the most goal contributions in the tournament. He scored four goals and assisted three more to make the best AFCON players for the second consecutive tournament. Bassey was the solid rock of the Super Eagles’ defense. The 26-year-old helped the team keep clean sheets through the knockout phase of the competition. The list also includes Sadio Mane, who was named the competitions best player, and Brahim Diaz, the golden boot winner and highest goal scorer, as well as Yassine Bono, the best goalkeeper. Others are Idrissa Gueye, Pape Gueye, Achraf Hakimi, Moussa Niakhat and Noussair Mazraoui.
