Sit-at-Home: Anambra loses N8bn every Monday — Commissioner

The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefoh, has said the state loses about N8 billion every Monday as a result of the sit-at-home practice. Mefoh made the statement during an interview on The Morning Brief, a programme aired on Channels Television, while speaking on the shutdown of the Onitsha market by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.Let me repeat for emphasis that initially there was fear factor, but its no longer there, even for months and years, Anambra security has been fairly restored, so there is no longer any fear factor. And you see, what has happened is that the fear factor led to the closing of the market every Monday in the past, and over time, the traders now converted Monday into an extension of their weekend.
