Tinubu looked at the whole Nigeria and removed an elected Gov of Rivers; nothing happened – Amaechi Says.

 

The former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has spoken out about his worries about what has happened recently in his home state. He explained why he is opposed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s suspension. In an April 25th article in the Vanguard, Amaechi claimed that President Tinubu had deposed the democratically elected governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and installed a military officer named Ibas as the state’s only administrator.

 

The entire nation witnessed what transpired, he claimed, but no one did anything. The suspension of Governor Fubara, according to Amaechi, was an egregious infringement of Nigeria’s constitution. The constitution, he said, should be revered and safeguarded like the Bible for Nigeria. The fact that the nation pretended nothing had happened despite the gravity of the situation is concerning, he added.
