
Armed bandits have attacked a passenger vehicle along the GusauKasheta Kura route in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State, k!lling a one-year-old baby, injuring a woman and abducting several passengers. Sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred on January 26, 2026 at about 7: 45 p.m. when the vehicle was conveying passengers from Gusau market to Kasheta Kura village. According to the source, the bandits opened fire on the moving vehicle, leading to the d3ath of a baby boy, while a woman sustained a gunshot injury to her leg. “The assailants also abducted an unspecified number of passengers to an unknown destination, the source said. Upon receipt of the report, troops evacuated the corpse and the injured victim to the General Hospital in Birnin Magaji for autopsy and medical treatment. Efforts are currently on top gear to rescue the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
