JUST IN: Gunmen Attack Ebonyi Community, Kill Several Residents, Abduct Others

Suspected gunmen have attacked Okporojo community in Oso Edda, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, killing several residents and abducting others.

The assailants were said to have stormed the community in an ambush, setting houses ablaze, killing residents and forcefully taking some persons away.

According to reports, several buildings were on fire, while distressed residents appealed to the state government and security agencies to urgently intervene.

As of the time of filing this report, the Ebonyi State Police Command and the state government have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
