The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has launched a new radio station to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election drive ahead of the 2027 general election.

The station is known as Majority FM 89.5. It is located within the office of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The move signals a fresh phase of political mobilisation in the South-South region.

The development comes as political activities begin to gather momentum around President Tinubu’s second-term ambition. The radio platform is expected to serve as a major tool for political messaging and grassroots engagement across Rivers State.

A video that surfaced online shows Wike walking through the facility during an inspection tour. He was seen inside the studio, speaking with staff and examining broadcasting equipment. The visit appeared to mark the informal commissioning of the station.

The station is designed to function as a communication hub for the Renewed Hope movement. The group is widely associated with the Tinubu administration and has been active in promoting government policies and political support structures.

During the inspection, Wike spoke on the purpose of the station and its political mission. He said, “This will take messages from all over the 666 units of Rivers state, we are ready for this job, we are ready for 2027.”

The comment suggests that the station will focus on mobilising political support at ward and community levels. It is also expected to amplify campaign narratives and consolidate Tinubu’s influence in Rivers politics.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Wike nor the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had released an official statement outlining the station’s programming direction or operational guidelines.
