Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, caused reactions over the weekend after he pointedly refused to wear a cap branded with President Bola Tinubu’s signature insignia.

The incident occurred during a high-profile birthday celebration for a billionaire businessman in Delta State, drawing the attention of several dignitaries and guests in attendance.

The drama began when popular celebrity tailor and fashion entrepreneur, Seyi Vodi, approached Adeyanju with the headpiece.

Vodi, who was already wearing the same style of cap, attempted to hand a spare one to the activist as a friendly gesture.

However, Adeyanju who is a well-known critic of the current administration wasted no time in declining the offer, maintaining his stance even as those around him laughed at the encounter.

The brief but tense exchange was captured on video and later uploaded to social media by Vodi himself.

In the footage, Adeyanju can be seen gesturing firmly against the cap, ensuring he was not photographed or filmed wearing the political symbol.
