Two minor sisters were sxually abused by three generations of men in their family. Six members of a U.K. family have been sentenced in connection with the sxual assault of the sisters, both under the age 16 and one of them under 13, in the southeastern British county of Sussex. The victims’ grandfather, father, uncle, brothers and mother were convicted last year of 39 offenses including r@pe and sxual assault, Sussex Police said in a statement at the time. The investigation began when one of the victims opened up to her schoolteacher in January 2025, Sussex Police said in their statement this week. The child gave examples of “r@pe and serious sxual assault” she was suffering at the hands of her father, grandfather and two brothers. Her younger sister then reported assault, neglect and child cruelty in their home. The family members were convicted on a total 39 offenses following a trial in September 2025, Sussex Police said in their statement at the time. Sussex police said in their statement on Monday, Feb. 9, that after the abuse was reported, the family tried to bully the victims into recanting their accusations but they were unsuccessful. This case has involved harrowing details of how the defendants abused the trust of both young victims. Their home should have been a place of love and support, but was in fact a place the victims feared,” Detective Superintendent Andrew Harbour said in the statement this week. The defendants preyed on that fear and hoped it would silence them. But the victims voices have been heard,” Harbour added. The children’s father, 43, was convicted of five counts of r@pe and five other counts of sxual assault relating to a child under 13. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison. Their 70-year-old grandfather was convicted of three counts of sxual assault of a child under the age of 13; he was sentenced to nine years behind bars. Their brothers, ages 24 and 21, were each convicted of several sxual assault offenses, including four counts of r@pe each. The younger brother was sentenced to nine and a half years, while the 24-year-old had three and a half years added to an existing sentence he is serving.
