
Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce have arrested 75 suspected criminals said to be terrorizing motorists along the Lagos-Calabar coastal road. The state Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this on X, said the suspects were arrested during a late-night raid targeting identified black spots in the area on Wednesday, February 11. Wahab mentioned that the 75 suspects include 68 males and 7 females. Substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered at the scene. The Commissioner mentioned that in the course of the exercise, one of our officers, Inspector Omosanjo Mohamed, was violently attacked by hoodlums and sustained a serious head injury. He is currently receiving medical treatment. Let me state clearly: attacks on law enforcement officers carrying out lawful duties will not be tolerated. All suspects arrested during the raid will face the full weight of the law.
