2027: Again, Peter Obi warns against rigging, reels out consequences
Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has again warned against any form of rigging in the forthcoming 2027 election.
In a post titled “Our Votes Must Count”, which he made on X on Monday, the African Democratic chieftain said rigging will not be tolerated from political leaders who aim to ruin the nation’s democratic processes
Noting that the votes of the people must count at the poll, Obi said all those who would not allow the will of the people would be counted among those destroying Nigeria.
Obi wrote, “Unlike in the past, in 2027 our votes MUST count, and all those who are there not to count the votes will be counted among those destroying Nigeria.”
He further encouraged his supporters and all well-meaning Nigerians to remain at the polling unit after voting to witness the counting process.
“I encourage everyone to remain at the polling units after voting to count and witness the counting and transmission of results.
“Those who refuse to allow the votes count will be made to count the full weight of the law against rigging.
“Let me reiterate: if you do not count our votes, we will count you among those who destroy our democracy, thereby destroying our future, and you must answer to the law,” he said.
