Update: NYPD hunts suspect in k!lling of Nigerian man inside US nightclub

The New York City Police Department has launched a manhunt for the suspected k!ller of a 30-year-old Nigerian, Sheriff Shittu, who was shot de@d at a nightclub in the East Flatbush area of Brooklyn. Shittu was gunned down in the early hours of February 14 at Quilox Lounge, located in the East Flatbush area. Police said the sho0ting followed a dispute at the club on Church Avenue near East 95th Street at about 4:30 a.m. on Valentines Day. According to NYDailyNews, Shittu was accompanied to the club by his younger brother, Fawaz Shittu, to celebrate a friends birthday a day before their mother was due to arrive for a visit from  Nigeria. I was screaming his name, Fawaz said, recalling the aftermath of the shooting that killed his brother. I was trying to wake him up. Sheriff got into a tussle with his k!ller after the stranger started drunkenly groping women, including the victims girlfriend, according to Fawaz. The brothers left the club just 45 minutes after arriving, turned off by the disturbance, the brother said. But they returned minutes later after realizing  Sheriff had left his cell phone behind. When they returned, the drunk was being escorted out, and the clubs owner tried to convince the brothers to stay, Fawaz said. The owner was saying, Dont mind that person hes a crazy guy, Fawaz recounted. A few seconds later, I heard pow, and I looked down, and I saw my brother. A bartender rushed to perform CPR on Sheriff, who lay motionless on the floor, Fawaz said. An NYPD official said the victim was sh0t in the head and later pronounced de@d at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Centre. Police said they are still investigating a motive for the sho0ting and do not yet have details about the argument between the men, a report by Gothamist stated. Authorities said the suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket and white trousers before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. Investigators have yet to establish the motive behind the altercation. Shittus family has intensified calls for justice. Were just feeling sad, and everybody is holding it in. Were trying to be strong right now, but were really worried about getting justice for him, his younger brother, Salem Shittu, said. He also questioned security measures at the nightclub, stating, We dont know why the security failed to properly search before somebody brought a gun into the club.
