Nigerian man recounts 36-hour deportation flight from the US, alleges inhumane treatmentA Nigerian man has opened up about his experience after being deported from the United States, detailing what he described as harsh conditions during the removal process.According to him, deportees particularly Nigerians, whom he claimed were the last stop on the flight route spent a minimum of 36 consecutive hours restrained with handcuffs, leg cuffs, and waist chains. He alleged they were unable to stand or stretch properly throughout the journey. He further claimed that meals were eaten while restrained and that detainees had to relieve themselves under the same conditions. The flight reportedly made five stops, with Nigeria as the final destination, and he described the flight path as unnecessarily prolonged.Addressing the restraints, he said air marshals and security personnel told them the cuffs could not be removed because they were still considered to be on US soil while aboard the aircraft, despite having left US airspace. He also alleged that elderly men and women were subjected to the same treatment.Despite the ordeal, he stated that he does not view his deportation itself as negative, but rather his experience while in ICE custody and during the deportation process. He expressed gratitude for returning home safely and said his wife and family are relieved now that he is no longer in detention. Watch video below     View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial) The post Nigerian man recounts 36-hour deportation flight from the US, alleges inhumane treatment appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
