Bandits k!ll kidnap victim after receiving ransom, hold Niger State Electoral Commission member, ex-SUBEB boss and others

Bandits have k!lled one Malam Usman Buhari, in Niger State after collecting a huge ransom for his release.  Buhari was a brother to Mal. Babangida Jibrin, a veteran Journalist who has worked with DW Radio and the Voice of America, Hausa Service. He was kidnapped by bandits on Monday, September 29, 2025, alongside Permanent Commissioner II of the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC), Barrister Ahmad Mohammed, the former Chairman of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Alhassan Bawa Niworo, and other travellers along the MokwaNew Bussa road in Borgu local council. According to Daily Trust, the kidnappers are yet to release Alhassan Bawa Niworo and other victims weeks after N70m ransom was said to have been paid by their families.  A local journalist Lanre Sadiq confirmed Buhari’s d3ath on November 17, 2025. It was gathered that his abductors tortured him to d3ath.  However, the Niger State Government, as well as other security agencies, had yet to issue any official statement.    The post Bandits k!ll kidnap victim after receiving ransom, hold Niger State Electoral Commission member, ex-SUBEB boss and others appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
