Fight for starting shirt – Fulham boss challenges Samuel Chukwueze

Fulham head coach Marco Silva has openly challenged Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze to fight for a starting role in the team after the player delivered a match-winning assist last weekend.Chukwueze joined the West London club on a season-long loan this summer. The 26-year-old has primarily been used as an impact substitute, having made five substitute appearances for the Whites so far.The Nigeria international was credited with a “wonderful assist” for Raul Jimenezs late goal in Fulhams crucial 1-0 victory over Sunderland last weekend. This marked the wingers second assist for the Cottagers in the Premier League.Following his performance, Chukwueze was voted Fulhams Royal Caribbean Legend of the Match, beating out teammates Ral Jimnez and Harry Wilson for the award.Silva praised the winger for his impact since his arrival but clearly outlined the next step in his challenge:He (Chukwueze) had a huge impact. It was a great assist from him, and were pleased for him.
