They Were About to Finish Boko Haram In 2015, But We Asked Them to Go Back- House Of Rep Member

According to a recent video by Sahara TV, a federal lawmaker has revealed that the Nigerian government halted the clearance of Boko Haram insurgents due to personal interests. According to him, mercenaries hired during Jonathan’s tenure had advanced equipment and strategies and were successfully targeting terrorist hideouts.

“They were less than 30. Everyone had a laptop, monitoring the bush. Once they spotted an enclave, they sent a few men in a chopper to clear it,” he explained. However, the operation was cut short due to internal sabotage. “We asked them to go back because of what we were benefiting,” the lawmaker admitted.

He also dismissed criticism of the National Assembly, saying lawmakers had done their part by providing enabling laws. “Enforcement is not our job. If the government isn’t ready to implement it, we can’t compel them,” he concluded.

His Words:” During Jonathan, we brought mercenaries. They were about to finish Boko Haram, but because of our complacency, personal advertisement, and personal interest, we asked them to go back, and we are still battling with the issue. I was in Borno State as a member of the State House of Assembly when the mercenaries were in Borno.”
