
Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have neutralized a suspect during a shootout with a robbery gang robbing motorists along the Lambata-Maje-Suleja road. The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, November 27, explained that the suspect, dressed in a military uniform was shot d3ad while others escaped with gunshot injuries. On November 20, 2025 at about 11.45pm, information was received that suspected armed robbers were sighted along Lambata-Maje-Suleja road, robbing motorists along the road, the statement read. “The Police patrol team attached to Maje Div mobilised to the scene, and on approaching Numbawa/Malam-karo point, the robbers were engaged in a shootout by the team, where one of the hoodlums, who dressed in military camouflage was neutralised, while others escaped with gunshot injuries. “Items recovered include; one improvised wooden gun wrapped with black celotape, a phone, and a torch light. The corpse was deposited at Suleja hospital morgue, and the road cleared for free flow of traffic. However, monitoring continues.
