Dramatic Video shows US forces seize massive Oil tanker off Venezuela coast

   In a significant move escalating tensions between the US and Venezuela, US President Donald Trump announced that US forces successfully seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela. The vessel, carrying sanctioned crude oil, was described by the President as the “largest one ever seized” by the American military. US Attorney General, Pam Bondi immediately followed up the announcement by releasing a dramatic 45-second video showing US troops rappelling from a helicopter and swiftly boarding the tanker in an armed takeover. Bondi confirmed that the US “executed a seizure warrant for a crude oil tanker used to transport sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran.”   She specified that the tanker had been sanctioned for multiple years due to its involvement in an illicit oil shipping network that supports foreign terrorist organizations. This seizure is the latest action in a robust pressure campaign against Venezuelan leader Nicols Maduro, which has included strikes on suspected narco-terrorist boats in the Caribbean Sea. Trump stated the tanker “was seized for a very good reason” and hinted at further actions, adding, “And other things are happening… Youll be seeing that later.”  The news of the military operation immediately impacted financial markets, causing crude prices to climb over 1.3% by mid-afternoon.  The US has maintained a significant military presence in the waters near Venezuela since September, deploying 11 warships and 15,000 troops. In that time, the military has reportedly killed more than 80 narco-terrorists in strikes on drug boats. Trump suggested earlier this week that Maduros “days are numbered” as the US presence continues to ramp up combatting suspected narco-terrorists.  While the President has not ruled out expanding military action to Venezuelan soil to target Maduros regime, the operations have drawn scrutiny from some US lawmakers. Democrats have recently expressed concerns and demanded more information regarding the legality of the airstrikes, questioning whether the President is on the verge of waging a war without congressional approval.  Trump, however, dismissed questions regarding the legality of the strikes, stating he believed the issue was settled, and emphasized that each boat strike saves as many as 25,000 American lives from drug overdose deaths.  The seizure coincides with a significant political event: opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, a fierce critic of Maduro, received the Nobel Peace Prize in a ceremony on Wednesday. Machado, who had been in hiding in Venezuela since 2024, managed to escape the country to attend the ceremony in Oslo, Norway. Her supporters believe her presence and leadership ability provide a strong foundation for a transition should Maduro leave power. Machado expressed confidence in a peaceful transition, stating, Were going to do it orderly and peacefully.    The US Attorney General today released footage of an oil tanker that the United States seized off the coast of Venezuela.
