The future of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, remains uncertain as several top clubs continue to battle for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen, whose loan spell at Galatasaray ended after helping the Turkish giants secure a domestic double, is being courted by Saudi club Al Hilal, Turkish champions Galatasaray, Premier League teams, and Serie A rivals Juventus.
Romano disclosed via his YouTube channel that Al Hilal are preparing a fresh offer for the 26-year-old, despite the forward previously rejecting a move to the Saudi Pro League.
He revealed that Al Hilal already have a near-agreement with Napoli and are keen to convince the player, banking on their superior financial proposal.
“Al Hilal are still not giving up on Victor Osimhen. They believe other clubs cannot match their financial proposal,” Romano said. “They want to try again, even though the player turned them down for the Club World Cup.”
Galatasaray, who benefited immensely from Osimhen’s loan stint, are also in the running and have reportedly tabled a generous offer in a bid to retain his services permanently. Popular Turkish commentator Murat Özbostan claims that the chances of Osimhen staying in Istanbul are “around 60%.”
“Osimhen is not closing the door to Galatasaray either, but he has not made a clear decision. He is still confused,” Özbostan told Habersarikirmizi.
“His family is not keen on a move to Arabia. Galatasaray have made a strong offer and are waiting. I think the club’s management is being very generous.”
Juventus have also re-entered the fray, having reportedly contacted the player again, while unnamed Premier League sides are monitoring the situation.
Osimhen, who is currently vacationing in Nigeria, is under contract with Napoli until June 2026.
However, with new head coach Antonio Conte reportedly favouring a move for Romelu Lukaku, the former African Footballer of the Year may be surplus to requirements at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
