Victor Osimhen: Al Hilal Return With Bigger Offer Amid Interest From United, Galatasaray

Saudi Arabian giants, Al Hilal are refusing to back down in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, as they prepare a staggering new salary offer worth €50 million per year to tempt the Nigerian striker to the Middle East.

Despite Osimhen rejecting a previous offer worth €30 million annually just 11 days ago, Al Hilal remain determined to sign the Napoli forward and is set to launch one final, ambitious bid to secure his signature.

According to Goal and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the club has informed Napoli of its willingness to activate Osimhen’s €75 million release clause.

“Al Hilal are not giving up on Victor Osimhen,” Romano stated. “They want to submit a new proposal. Osimhen rejected 10 days ago but Al Hilal insist… race open as Galatasaray and Premier League clubs are still there, while Juventus called again.”

Osimhen, 26, has just returned from a successful loan spell with Turkish champions Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and made 8 assists in 41 appearances.

He still has one year left on his contract with Napoli, but tensions with the club’s management, especially after being frozen out of Antonio Conte’s squad last season, have made his departure this summer almost certain.

While Al Hilal’s new proposal dwarfs all other offers on the table, the Super Eagles star is reportedly still keen to remain in Europe, at least for now. However, the eye-watering figure of €50 million annually may prove too tempting to ignore.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have re-entered the race after missing out on Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres. United are said to be offering Osimhen a €12 million per year salary and are willing to match his €75 million release clause.

However, the Red Devils face stiff competition from Premier League rivals and financial constraints after recently spending £62.5 million to land Matheus Cunha.

Galatasaray, too, are hoping to pull off a sensational permanent deal for Osimhen, with a reported salary offer of €15–20 million per year.

But negotiations are stalling over Napoli’s demand for a lump-sum payment of the €75 million clause, while the Turkish club would prefer a more flexible installment structure.

Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg confirmed: “Gala are offering a net annual salary of €15–20m. The biggest issue remains the payment structure for the €75m release clause. Napoli want as few instalments as possible.”

Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with the striker, who netted 26 goals in 32 games during Napoli’s 2022-2023 title-winning Serie A campaign.

If either club makes a concrete move, Manchester United’s chances could be weakened further, given Osimhen’s likely preference to join a team with UEFA Champions League football.
