Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon, has confirmed his departure from FC Nantes after six remarkable seasons, sealing a summer transfer to newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC.
Simon made the announcement on Tuesday evening via his official 𝕏 account, sharing a touching farewell message in French alongside a 75-second video montage celebrating his time at the club.
“Six seasons giving everything with my heart,” Simon wrote. “Sprints, crosses, goosebumps and memories engraved forever. Thank you FC Nantes, thank you, Beaujoire. I leave with pride and a piece of this club in my heart.”
The 29-year-old joined Nantes on loan from Levante in 2019 and made the move permanent a year later. Since then, he became a key figure at Stade de la Beaujoire, amassing 201 appearances, 37 goals, and 42 assists.
He was instrumental in helping Nantes avoid relegation multiple times and played a pivotal role in their Coupe de France triumph in 2022, as well as their return to the final in 2023.
Simon enjoyed a stellar 2024-2025 season, contributing eight goals and 10 assists as Nantes finished 13th in Ligue 1, comfortably avoiding the drop.
According to French outlets L’Équipe and Foot Mercato, the Nigerian international completed his medical on Tuesday ahead of a €7 million transfer to Paris FC, where he is expected to sign a three-year contract.
The move marks a major coup for Paris FC, who are gearing up for their first Ligue 1 campaign in 46 years.
Despite interest from several clubs, including Stade Rennes, Olympique Marseille, and Premier League side Everton, Simon opted for Paris FC as his next destination.
The deal not only brings top-flight experience to the Parisian outfit but also signals the club’s intent to bolster its squad with proven talents.
Reports suggest Paris FC are also eyeing a move for DR Congo defender Chancel Mbemba, whose contract with Marseille expires at the end of June.
Simon’s arrival is expected to headline what could be a busy summer of signings for Paris FC as they aim to make a strong impression in their Ligue 1 return.
