‘My Only Focus’ – Gov Radda Speaks On 2027 Vice-Presidential Ambition

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has stated that his primary focus at the moment is his state’s security, distancing himself from claims associating him with an alleged ambition for the vice presidency in 2027.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor emphasised that his primary commitment is to serve the citizens of Katsina State.

Mohammed indicated that the governor provided this clarification in Dutsin-Ma during an event organised by the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum on Tuesday.

In response to the rumours, Radda stated, “I’ve observed posters and messages implying that I am seeking another position.

“Let me be clear, I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus.

“I am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfil the trust you’ve placed in me.”

It could be recalled that the state assembly had already endorsed Governor Radda for a second term.

The Senators and House of Representatives members from Katsina state also followed suit.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, the governor said, “Security remains our topmost priority. We’re working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina. We will never make promises we can’t keep, and our decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.”

The Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, Dr. Sabi’u Liadi, commended the governor for his humility and responsiveness, emphasising that their support was based on performance.

“Your attendance here today is highly significant. By choosing to be present in person, you demonstrate the qualities of a true leader,” Liadi.

In addition, the Executive Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government, Hon. Kabir Abdussalam Shema, characterised Governor Radda as both compassionate and courageous.

“Without hesitation, we endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results,” Shema.

While appreciating the second-term endorsement, Governor Radda said, “If it is the will of Allah and good for the people, it shall be, but if not, I pray for Allah to guide us to something even better.”
