She emphasized faith and perseverance in supporting her husband and the APC’s mission. Speaking to governors, party members, and female leaders, she praised the advancement of women in Akwa Ibom politics, pointing out their transition from household duties to powerful responsibilities such as senator and deputy governor. In 2007, women were in the kitchen preparing pepper soup when I was appointed governor’s wife. She highlighted the APC leadership’s commitment to empowering women by saying, “I said no, our women are brilliant, intelligent, and gogetters.”

Alongside President Bola Tinubu, whom she called a visionary leader, Mrs. Akpabio lauded her husband, calling him a “lion” and a key player in Nigerian politics. “You have God and my husband, Senate President Akpabio, the lion, who shall you fear?” she assured the gathering, urging Governor Umo Eno in particular to maintain her resolve in the face of criticism. Her remarks emphasized their political journey’s power and supernatural support, in her opinion.

She recalled previous difficulties, comparing their joining the APC to “cutting into a forest with a knife,” but she was happy with the party’s development and cohesion. She reflected on her husband’s audacious choices, including as his political alignment in 2019, and pointed out that early criticism has benefited Nigeria and Akwa Ibom. Using the scriptural consolation, “When Christ is with you, who can be against you?” Mrs. Akpabio urged tenacity.
