BREAKING NEWS: Don't Mislead Nigerians – Land Owner Confronts Peter Obi

The woman at the center of a controversial land ownership dispute in Lagos, Mrs. Olorunlogbon, has issued a scathing response to former presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of politicizing and misrepresenting facts surrounding a property demolition that recently gained public attention.

Obi had taken to his X handle to decry the demolition of a property he claimed belonged to his family. However, in a full-length statement, Mrs. Olorunlogbon accused Obi of peddling contradictions and misleading the public on a matter that is currently sub judice…..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Full Statement from Mrs. Olorunlogbon:

“The Instagram post by Peter Obi, as shared by ‘lindakejiblogofficial’, is highly lopsided as it is just an ornamented account of a biased individual.

The post seeks to sway public opinion on a land matter that is subjudice.

In one breath, Mr. Peter Obi claims the property in question belongs to his family. In another narrative, Mr. Peter Obi claims the property belongs to his brother, who, until now, is faceless. In another statement, Mr. Peter Obi claims the property belongs to a company in which his brother works.

The truth now appears to be that Mr. Peter Obi is not connected with the property at all but is hired to use his personality and media contacts to politicize and sensationalize a matter that is under judicial view.

Nigeria is not a lawless country, but certain persons who think they are above the law like Mr. Peter Obi are the ones promoting lawlessness in the country. If Mr. Peter Obi—whether hired or not—will always give a balanced account of events in Nigeria to viewers and listeners, there will be less impunity in the country.

Mr. Peter Obi knows very well that the suit number of the suit by which judgment Mrs. Olorunlogbon took possession of the property is boldly written all over it. The person for whom Mr. Peter Obi is working has also joined issues in court over the property. Rather than wait for the court to decide the case, Mr. Peter Obi has gone to town to whip up sentiments to expose the proceedings in court to ridicule. This is undermining the judiciary using undue public opinion and sentiment.

Apart from the judgment, Mrs. Olorunlogbon has Certificates of Occupancy and other relevant Government documents over the property. The property belongs to her and she can use it the way she deems fit until the court rules otherwise.

This disobedience to valid court judgment being exhibited by Mr. Peter Obi in the guise of social media literature has earlier been orchestrated by the servants of Mr. Peter Obi’s principal, and the case was reported at Zone 2 Police HQ Lagos.

Invitation letters were extended to them, confirmed by Mr. Peter Obi himself, but they refused to honour the invitation. Rather, Mr. Peter Obi has now resorted to self-help and extra-judicial machinery in the form of social media which, in a lawful country like Nigeria, is brazen contempt of court.

Let whoever hired Mr. Peter Obi come forward with their documents to match Mrs. Olorunlogbon’s documents over the property and judgment will be given. That settles it all.”

The statement comes in response to widespread public reactions following Obi’s post, where he emotionally described the alleged demolition as an injustice against his brother. Critics have noted inconsistencies in Obi’s description of the ownership, further complicating the narrative….CONTINUE READING
