The Nigerian Tribune reports that Governor Otu made this declaration in a press conference after Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, was formally welcomed into the APC.

Otu said the occasion, which was held in Uyo, a “great day” for regional political unity. In response to a query concerning Governor Diri, the only PDP governor in the South-South, Governor Otu expressed optimism and unity. “My chairman in the South-South Governors’ Forum is Governor Diri. “I’m sure he won’t be by himself for long,” Otu said. The governor of Cross River emphasized once more how crucial cooperation is to promoting regional development. He underlined that support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies will be strengthened by political unity throughout the zone.

“We are better positioned to foster stability and progress now that both states and our other sister states are under the APC umbrella,” he said. In closing, Governor Otu emphasized the APC’s inclusiveness and its openness to new members. He emphasized that a new era of collaboration towards sustainable development is heralded by the party’s expansion in the South-South.
