Coalition: ‘APC Will Not Know What Hit Them In 2027’ – Kenneth Okonkwo

2027 Election: Atiku, Obi, Tinubu Should Step Aside - Kenneth Okonkwo

Former spokesperson of the Labour Party (LP)’s Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 election, Kenneth Okonkwo, has said the coalition by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ex- Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, and other political heavyweights has the ‘engine room’ to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Naija News reports that the lawyer cum politician made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

According to him, the ruling APC is unaware of what will hit them hard in the 2027 election.

He remarked, “Just know that I am part of the coalition. I can tell you about the engine room of this coalition that many people don’t know about. APC will not know what hit them come 2027.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has rubbished reports that the coalition against President Bola Tinubu had formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new party named All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

Naija News reports that Keyamo, in a post via Twitter on Friday, June 20, 2025, dismissed the move as overhyped and lacking political substance.

The Minister stated that if the top politicians backing the anti-coalition are thinking of recreating what the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) did in 2013, then it is nothing but a pedestrian joke.

According to Keyamo, no recognised political parties were involved in the application process, unlike the APC.

He added that the group behind the ADA registration comprises only a few individuals exercising their constitutional right, which does not equate to a merger or coalition of parties.
