‘It Represents Several Depths Of Shame From APC’ – Atiku’s Aide Knocks Tinubu Over Visit To Benue

Why We Are Building New Office For INEC - President Tinubu

Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Demola Olarenwaju, has tackled President Bola Tinubu over the visit to Benue State.

Naija News reports that Tinubu had visited Benue State following a series of killings in the Yelewata area of the state.

Tinubu, during the visit, pledged that the Federal Government will confront the issue of land-grabbing head-on if it is found to be at the root of the recurring attacks in Benue State, particularly the recent massacre in Yelwata.

However, the president’s visit to Benue State has been criticised by many Nigerians.

Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, said Tinubu turned the visit into a campaign, saying the president chose optics over empathy.

In a post via 𝕏, Olarenwaju described Tinubu’s visit as a show of shame.

According to him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will likely want Nigerians to forget the depth of shame associated with the party.

He said, “The show of shame in Benue yesterday is something the APC will quickly want us to forget, but we must not: that moment represents several depths of shame from APC.

“Skit-makers, comedians, opinion writers, public commentators, everyone must stay reminding Nigerians of this mess.”
