Premier League champions, Liverpool, will kick off their title defence at Anfield against Bournemouth on August 15, 2025, as the full fixture list for the 2025-2026 season is officially released.
Liverpool, coached by Arne Slot, entered the new campaign full of confidence after storming to the league title last term, finishing ten points clear of Arsenal in what was a sensational debut season for the Dutchman in English football.
Slot has already made key moves to secure Liverpool’s dominance, with club superstars Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah both signing new contracts to extend their stays on Merseyside.
However, the Reds will have to cope with the loss of vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has departed for Real Madrid after nearly 20 years at the club.
Liverpool’s start to the season features a string of high-stakes encounters. Just eight days after their opener, they face Newcastle away in a replay of the 2024-2025 Carabao Cup final.
Arsenal then visit Anfield in gameweek three, setting up a stern early test of the champions’ credentials.
October 18 marks the first of two league clashes with bitter rivals Manchester United, with the first leg held at Anfield before the reverse fixture at Old Trafford on May 2.
The first Merseyside derby against Everton takes place at Anfield on September 20, with the return fixture set for April 18 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The heavyweight encounter with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City comes on November 8 (away), with the return leg at Anfield on February 7.
The festive season also looks packed for the Reds, with home games against Wolves (Dec 27) and Leeds United (Dec 30) around the New Year period.
Liverpool’s season will end at home to Brentford on May 24, 2026, potentially giving the Anfield faithful another trophy celebration to look forward to.
