Liverpool Make Bold Move For Osimhen As Napoli Demand Cash Plus Players

Premier League champions Liverpool have made an ambitious move to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, but face a steep counter-demand from the Italian club in a high-profile transfer saga.

According to Valter De Maggio, via Sportskeeda, Liverpool has offered Napoli a player-plus-cash deal involving Uruguay forward Darwin Nunez and Italian winger Federico Chiesa in a bid to lure Osimhen to Anfield.

However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has responded by demanding an additional €20 million on top of the two players.

Chiesa, currently valued at €14 million, and Nunez, valued at €45 million, make up a combined value of €59 million. Adding Napoli’s cash demand brings the total valuation to €79 million, above Osimhen’s current €70 million market value on Transfermarkt.

Despite the valuation discrepancy, Napoli appears determined to hold out for a deal that matches their internal assessment of the 26-year-old Nigerian star.

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the most prolific forwards in world football, spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he delivered a stellar campaign.

The Nigerian striker scored 37 goals and registered 8 assists in 41 matches, leading the Turkish giants to a domestic double.

Among his standout moments was a spectacular overhead kick against Antalyaspor, which won the Super Lig’s Goal of the Season award with 65.8% of fan votes.

Galatasaray are keen to make the move permanent, but the striker’s exceptional form has reignited interest from Europe’s elite clubs.

Liverpool is not alone in the pursuit, with Juventus also stepping up efforts under new sporting director Damien Comolli.

Manchester United, another long-term admirer, remain interested but is reportedly hesitant due to Osimhen’s high wage expectations.

The Nigerian international has notably rejected multiple big-money offers from Saudi Arabia, including a recent €30 million-per-year deal from Al-Hilal. Reports suggest the Saudi club is preparing an improved €50 million-per-year package, though Osimhen appears focused on staying in Europe.
