SAD: “We can no longer stand to watch” – Mark Fumes Over Killings In Benue, Calls for Security Action

 

According to Dailypost, former Senate President David Mark has expressed deep concern over the latest wave of violence in Benue State, where armed assailants reportedly launched deadly attacks in Otukpo and Ado local government areas, claiming the lives of at least 15 individuals on Tuesday night.

In a statement released in Abuja through his media adviser, Paul Mumeh, Mark pointed to the tragic incidents in Otobi-Akpa, Emichi, and Utonkon as intolerable, calling for swift intervention from security forces to restore stability and bring the attackers to justice.

He stated, “We can no longer stand to watch our people killed needlessly for no just cause.”Mark urged communities across the affected areas to form self-defense vigilante groups to safeguard themselves against future assaults, while also promoting peaceful coexistence. He stressed the need to be vigilant and to identify potential external threats to community safety.

He called on residents to support ongoing efforts by security agencies aimed at restoring calm to the region, and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic events, offering prayers for the repose of the victims.
