Actress and producer Temitope Solaja, also known as “Aruga,” has opened up about her upbringing, which she described as a “smooth, beautiful” experience. She explained that because her parents were very young when she was born, she was raised by her grandmother, who spoiled her.
According to a video from the Talk to B show, this early part of her life was filled with treats and indulgence. She later moved back in with her mother in JSS3, where she continued to receive a lot of care and support from her mother’s older sister. They’re still together. So they had me then and they had to focus on their studies, and my mom had to drop me with my grandma. My grandmother really, she spoiled me then. Whenever I don’t really eat, I just sit down outside and be buying chewing gum, sweets, everything. So I was so spoiled then.
My mom saw me and she didn’t like that, so she had to come take me away from her. I think JSS3, that was when I now moved back to my mom, like I now had that relationship with my mom and everything.
