Speaking at a recent revival meeting, Pastor Kumuyi emphasized the need for genuine repentance, not just repeated declarations of faith. “Believe without doubt that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,” Pastor Kumuyi began, referencing Romans 10:9 (00:39:48). “You understand now how many people confess with their mouth and they say ‘Jesus is Lord’—and they do it over and over every Sunday in their place of worship.” He highlighted a deep concern that many Christians go through the motions of religion without real transformation. “But that mouth confessing ‘Jesus Lord, Jesus Lord,’ and they try to kneel down a little, bow a little when they call Jesus—that same mouth is given to lying, even after that service,” Kumuyi said pointedly (00:39:48).
